Introduction

Create Your First Project

Now that you have a client, it's time to set up your first project. Learn how to configure a project, add tasks, and manage files.

Projects represent the actual work you are doing for a client. They allow you to organize tasks, track time, upload files, and eventually invoice the client for the completed work.

Step 1: Navigate to Projects

From your Dashboard, click on Projects in the main navigation menu. Then, click the New Project button.

Step 2: Project Details

Fill in the basic information about your project:

  • Project Name (Required): A clear, descriptive name for the project (e.g., "Website Redesign").
  • Description (Optional): Additional details about the project goals and scope.
  • Clients (Optional): Select the clients associated with this project.
  • Deadline (Optional): Set a target completion date.
  • Budget (Optional): If you have a fixed budget or an estimated number of hours, enter it here to track against it later.

Step 3: The Project Workspace

Once your project is successfully created, simply click on it from the list to enter the dedicated project page. This centralized workspace is designed to keep every aspect of your client engagement organized and seamlessly accessible.

At the top of the workspace, you will find essential overview information. On the right-hand side, conveniently located next to the Client Information panel, are your Project Links-allowing you to quickly navigate to relevant external resources or interconnected documents.

Below the high-level overview, the workspace is intuitively divided into four powerful tabs to manage your workflow:

  • Tasks: Break down the project into actionable, trackable steps. Assign due dates, set priorities, and monitor progress to ensure nothing falls through the cracks.
  • Invoices: Handle the financial aspect of the project. Generate, track, and manage billing directly tied to the work being delivered.
  • Timeline: Gain a comprehensive chronological view of your project's history, key milestones, and upcoming deadlines, ensuring everyone stays perfectly aligned.
  • Files: A secure, centralized repository for all project-related assets, contracts, and deliverables, making sure important documents are always just a click away.

Pro Tip

Keep your tasks small and actionable. It helps both you and your client see consistent progress!
