Create Your First Client

Learn how to add clients to TaskCart, set up their profiles, and give them access to the client portal.

Clients are the core of your business. In TaskCart, a client represents a person or company you are doing work for. Once you add a client, you can create projects, send invoices, and collaborate with them through the client portal.

Step 1: Navigate to Clients

From your Dashboard, click on Clients in the main navigation menu. This will take you to the client management screen where you can see all your existing clients.

Step 2: Add a New Client

Click the New Client button. You will be prompted to enter the client's essential details:

  • Name: The client's full name or company name.
  • Email: The primary contact email. This is where invoices and portal invitations will be sent.
  • Phone (Optional): A contact number for the client.
  • Address (Optional): The client's billing address, which will appear on invoices.

Step 3: Client Portal Access

TaskCart offers a dedicated Client Portal where your clients can log in to view their active projects, track progress, download files, and pay invoices.

When creating a client, you can choose to send them an invitation email immediately, or wait until you have set up a project and invoice for them. They will receive a secure link to create their own password and access the portal.

Pro Tip

Ensure you have customized your branding in the settings before inviting clients. They will see your logo and colors in their portal!
